Central Southern Set for Top Hard Court Sports Surfaces

The Central Southern town of Darkan will soon be boasting some of the best sports surfaces in Western Australia thanks to a multipurpose installation from Green Planet Grass.

People living in the Shire of West Arthur can look forward to playing tennis, basketball and netball on four new acrylic hard courts with construction set to start in the coming weeks. While Green Planet Grass are renowned as the ‘synthetic grass specialists’ in Perth, the WA company also has a growing reputation for providing premium hard court solutions for sports.

More and more local government authorities are placing their trust in Green Planet Grass because they have the expertise and experience to deliver major synthetic grass or hard court sports installations from start to finish. As with numerous other municipal sports installations, Green Planet Grass has designed the hard court facilities and will oversee base construction, building of a retainer wall and drainage requirements as well as the supply and installation of court hardware. The project will also include fencing and application of a Rebound Ace Synpave sports surface with line marking for netball, basketball and tennis courts.

As an accredited applicator for Rebound Ace acrylic sports surfaces, WA customers can expect the best products available under foot. Rebound Ace is highly regarded for its excellent sports surfaces which include development of the Australian Open tennis courts at Melbourne Park, which have been in place for 20 years and continue to perform at top level with only minimal surface maintenance required.

The hard court installation at Darkan is around 2,500m2 and will provide people living in the Shire of West Arthur with many years of top quality sporting enjoyment. Approximately halfway between Collie and Wagin, the town could become a real hub for basketball, netball and tennis players in the region.

Once the mandatory surveys of the site are completed, preparations can start in earnest with development of an asphalt underlay.

Darkan town is located along Coalfields Highway which is 204 kilometres away from Perth. The place can be reached by going across Albany Highway, via Arthur River or Williams. The travel is a hassle-free two and a half road trip from Perth. The place is actually 115 kilometres from Bunbury, 74 kilometres from Narrogin, and 60 kilometres from Collie.

As well as the hard court acrylic surfaces such as those set to be installed at Darkan, Green Planet Grass has also installed large scale synthetic grass solutions across some of the more far-flung parts of the state from the Pilbara to the Great Southern and in various locations in the Wheatbelt and Mid West.
