East Fremantle is increasing its commitment to sustainable synthetic grass with the installation of a new match cricket wicket, and is set to save on maintenance and irrigation as a result.
Following the City of Rockingham and City of Gosnells, amongst several others, who engaged Green Planet Grass to produce new wickets in Baldivis and Thornlie respectively, the Town of East Fremantle have committed to their own new facility.
The East Fremantle wicket will be designed and constructed by Green Planet Grass and, like many local government authorities and sports clubs in Western Australia, the Town council will be able to make savings as stringent water restrictions make it increasingly difficult to keep lawns and recreational surfaces in good condition. The new match wicket follows the installation of three cricket nets for East Fremantle Cricket Club.
